Jono and Shaz Shaw’s picturesque Prospect Hill property continues to produce exceptional Pinot Noir, and the 2022 vintage is something special.

This tiny batch was meticulously hand-selected, row by row, by both grower and winemaker, drawing fruit from three distinct areas of the vineyard. Exceptionally low yields produced smaller, more concentrated berries, delivering even greater fruit intensity than the 2021 vintage.

With approximately 50% whole bunch inclusion, carefully managed fermentation temperatures and a gentle malolactic fermentation, the resulting wine balances vibrant red fruit with beautifully layered sweet and savoury spice.

Following 13 months in seasoned French oak, the 2022 Giddy Goat offers a wonderfully expressive Pinot Noir with the elegance and complexity to be enjoyed now or cellared for years to come.

Tasting Notes:

Juicy red berries — candied cherry and ripe raspberry up front, with delicate almond, sweet dessert spice, and subtle savory undertones.

More intensity than 2021 while keeping that cool-climate Pinot elegance. 

Pairing: Try it with duck, mushroom risotto, or something a little sweeter, like a cinnamon scroll or vanilla bean white chocolate.

Cellaring: Longer than you’ll want to leave it.
